1. Legacy & Impact Review
In preparation for the club's dissolution in June, members reviewed a historical summary of the significant contributions and community impact made by the Rotary Club of Courtice over the years:
- 💉 Polio Eradication: Multiple Purple Pinkie Projects and "Racing for Rotary" events raised thousands for over 19,000 vaccinations globally.
- 🏥 Health & Mental Health: Significant donations to Ontario Shores ($5,000), Lakeridge Health ($1,000), and the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Foundation ($4,500 total).
- 🍲 Food Security: Over $4,300 in donations and 249 meals provided to St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and families in need.
- 🎓 Youth & Education: Supported local students through the Phillip Anastassakis Memorial Scholarship ($4,000), various bursaries, and the donation of 34 backpacks.
- 🐕 Community Support: Donations to Clarington Animal Shelter, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Durham Region Hospice, and the Jays Care Foundation.
- 🤝 Service Highlights: $1,500 to Locks of Love (including a hair donation from Connor Visser) and $6,649 to MOC Active 55+.
2. Recent Contributions (2024-2025)
- 🔥 Fire Victim Support: 50 meals provided via Healthy at Home 905 for victims of the Bowmanville fire (Aug 2024).
- 🏥 Hospital Foundation: $5,000 total donated to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation through general funds and a guest meeting at Amica Whitby (Nov 2025).
Next Steps: Members are encouraged to continue considering final donation recipients to close out the remaining club accounts in June.
