Land Acknowledgement:
The Municipality of Clarington is situated within the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas and Chippewas of the Anishinabeg, known today as the Williams Treaties First Nations. Our work on these lands acknowledges their resilience and their longstanding contributions to the area now known as the Municipality of Clarington.
2. Fellowship & Fundraising – 6:35 PM
Super Happy Bucks: Catherine won the draw and donated her winnings back to the club.
- Sharon: Posters are up for the 45th Terry Fox Run
- Lou: Happy to see members wearing Rotary pins
- Elpseth: Happy to be here
- Mellissa: Grateful for the recent rain and cooler weather
- Marie: Donated 15 “f*** bucks” – expressing frustration at cancer and ongoing challenges
- Catherine: Enjoyed spending the afternoon with Marie and had a visit from Shannon
- Ferd: Visited three clubs as ADG and pleased with the attendance of dignitaries
- Connor: Excited to be working on a new project
- Janice: Had a great day at work, meeting several inspiring 90-year-olds
- Joe: Thrilled that his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson were arriving soon
3. Dinner Service – 6:45 PM

4. Club Updates & Reports – 7:15 PM
- Card Bingo: 24 tickets remain – 16 sold (5 to Rotarians). Chicken sandwiches substituted due to supply constraints.
- Blue Jays Game: $2,200 raised after holdbacks. Note: ticket prices may increase beyond $100 next year.
- Funding Request – Scott Dickson: Approved unanimously to support House League Night Ball.
- Leonard Dohn Visit: Registration remains low. Club will provide a cake for the event.
- Treasurer’s Report: Janice to verify the status of the Safe Hope Home cheque (potentially lost in mail).
- Movie Night: 7 attendees registered. $100 sponsorship received via Nancy.
- Oshawa Generals: December 12 selected as club event date.
- Facility Bookings: Municipality requires full cost recovery and reporting within 14 days.
- Golf Tournament: Marie to approach Harmony Creek as host venue. Ferd revisited previous partnership model with the Bulldog. Dinner options being considered.
- Game: Group beta test was successful; latency deemed acceptable. Requires a stable internet connection.
