All proceeds from this event will support the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation and their “We Care, We Can” campaign — a bold initiative to equip the next-generation Bowmanville Hospital and help meet the growing healthcare needs across Durham Region.
Why It Matters Beyond Bowmanville
While Bowmanville Hospital may not be the nearest facility to every club, its role in the Lakeridge Health system impacts all of us. This expansion will help:
- Ease the strain on hospitals in Oshawa, Ajax, and Pickering
- Double the capacity of the Emergency Department
- Offer more private inpatient rooms for greater comfort and infection control
- Modernize surgical suites and diagnostic tools
- Enhance maternal and pediatric services
Specialized services like the Regional Eye Care Centre will remain in Bowmanville and continue to serve patients across the region. Additionally, a new expanded Nephrology Department means more residents will be able to receive dialysis and related treatments closer to home — minimizing travel and maximizing care.
