Today we were able to plant a tree at Tooley's Mill Park Courtice, in memory of Peter Ellinas of Johannesburg South Africa. Peter, the father of Courtice Rotarian Theresa Gamble, passed away on May 18 of this year. His example is what has inspired Theresa to be such an active and engaged member of our community. We look forward to making many community memories around Peter's tree and we are thrilled to plant more "community roots" for Theresa and her family.
A tree has roots in the soil yet reaches to the sky. It tells us that in order to aspire we need to be grounded and no matter how high we go it is from our roots that we draw sustenance.

We look forward to hosting a formal memorial dedication in the coming weeks, but we want to thank Uxbridge Nurseries for this fabulous Colorado Blue Spruce, the Municipality of Clarington staff and administration who completed the installation and Ward 1 Councillor Janice Jones for her support and guidance of this very personal project.
